Are you the moon that shinned in college’s sky?
That grazed all juvenility of student’s heart?
That descended and laid on my laps?
That came to be with me?
Are you the moon that shinned in college’s sky?
That grazed all juvenility of student’s heart?
That descended and laid on my laps?
That came to be with me?
Oh! Haiku!
You came to me in high speed like a Haiku
You said I love you on raising your eyebrows
The months of April and May are always
Under the influence of baking heat
Nevertheless the thoughts are
In cool water pool [because I think of you]
Won’t the Dolphins jump about
In the hearts, in the hearts
Springs inside
In floods, in floods
You mischevious boy
Shall I play pooppandhu
(Pooppandhu: A ball made up of flowers, played amoung a group of girls in ancient times by throwing it forcibly at each other. Also a game for lovers at springtime.)
You’ll cause nuisance. Enough is enough.
All the nuisance are joy, aren’t they?
You may make kissing noises
Well with me, these noises are kisses indeed
The bouquet will have to struggle through the storm
Are you the moon that shinned in college’s sky?
That grazed all juvenility of student’s heart?
What the lady’s pulse?
I saw it, I saw it
Without using a stethoscope
I can tell, I can tell
Inside your personification/body
What is it? What is it?
Without the use of scanning
Tell me, tell me
Is it sinful if I see it?
Come and see after fixing a date (marriage)
There are urgent ‘operation’ cases, you know
Oh! Come on my love, desire is not an operation case
If you say, stay within the boundary, my heart will push me to shatter it
Oh! Dear! Our love is not the Kargil war
Don’t push (forbid) me too much, my youth can’t accept it
Are you the moon that shinned in college’s sky?
That grazed all juvenility of student’s heart?
That descended and laid on my laps?
That came to be with me?
Oh! Haiku! Oh! Haiku!
I love you
Précisions “pertinentes amenées” par l’auteur du vidéos:
Kargil war: The bitter war fought in Kargil, India, between Pakistan and India, in 1999
The first paragraph means she, the beauty queen, the moon, once shinned for everyone, disturbed everyone’s heart, finally came to me and now shones only for me
Haiku: The japanese poetry which is powerful and crisp enough to deliver the message fast in one single line
Tamil being a living classical language, has a rich literary tradition spanning over ~5000 years. Tamil people appreciate other literatures too. So, beautiful girls are often compared to literature. O! My girl! You are beautiful like Tamil, like Sangam (ancient Tamil academy) poetry, words of Kaalidaas (Sanskrit), Wordsworth, thoughts of Omar Khayyam (persian), Haiku, etc.
Girl’s eyebrows are compared to bows. Here is the bow of Manmatha (Cupid). Arrows are “I love You”. The bullseye is the center of his heart.
As “Haiku”, poetically she said I love you. (Here “I love you” is Haiku, not the girl).
In this movie, our hero and heroine are medical college students. But please, don’t expect any doctor of Indian origin, or as the matter of fact any Indians, to sing and dance. They will fail mesirably or you will lose the appetite for both. Things happens ONLY in movies.
